Simply Painted Cards

Sometimes all you need to create a pretty card is a little pretty paper. The good news is that pretty paper is really easy to make. All you need is paper, paint, and a little glitter.

To get started, I find it best to use three colors that are beside each other on the color wheel. I used green, blue, and purple. These three colors will blend harmoniously because blue is used to make the other two colors.
Next, I started adding paint in random strokes on four pieces for 4x6in index cards. I kept adding paint and blending between the colors until I was satisfied with how it looked. You can use some watered down white paint over the top to tone the colors down a little. I used gouache paint here, but any water based paint will work. Once the painted pieces were dry, I was ready to make them into notecards.

To make the notecards:
1) Cut four pieces of white card stock measuring 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches and fold in half.
2) Cut the painted pieces down to 4 by 5 1/4 inches.
3) Adhere to the front of the card base.
4) Add a little pizzaz with some glitter glue.
Once the glue is dry, you are ready to add your personal message to inside!
Here is a better look at all four of my cards.

I hope this will inspire you to create your own painted notecards! If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.
